The World Is Waiting and You don't need anyone to go

Why Travel solo with us

“The first thing I always ask is simple: what kind of trip are you dreaming of? Because that dream is real, and it doesn’t have to wait for anyone else. I’ve traveled solo a few times myself and what surprised me most was how much I got out of it. You move at your own pace, you discover things you never would have found in a group, and you come home feeling like a different version of yourself. What I do at Saunders Travel is make sure none of the details get in the way of that. The hotels, the transfers, the best routes, knowing which resorts actually cater to solo travelers and which ones don’t. I take all of that off your plate so you can just focus on the part that matters. The trip itself.”

What I Tell Every Solo Traveler Before They Book

  • 1. Choose a destination that fits your comfort level. Not all solo travel looks the same. If it’s your first time going alone, start somewhere with easy navigation, English-friendly locals, and well-connected transportation, think Costa Rica, London, or Cancun. As your confidence grows, so can your destinations. I help my clients find the right fit from the very first conversation.
  • 2. Don’t let the single supplement catch you off guard. One of the biggest surprises for solo travelers is the single supplement fee, a surcharge many hotels and cruise lines charge when only one person occupies a room. It can add up fast. Knowing which resorts and cruise lines waive this fee or offer solo-friendly cabins can save you hundreds of dollars. That’s something I look out for every single time.
  • 3. Pack light, move freely. When you’re traveling solo, your luggage is yours and yours alone. A carry-on and a personal bag are the sweet spot you can hop on trains, navigate airports, and explore without being weighed down. Stick to versatile pieces, a good pair of walking shoes, and leave room for what you find along the way.
  • 4. Share your itinerary with someone you trust. Before you leave, send your full travel plan to a friend or family member, including hotels, flight numbers, and a rough daily schedule. It takes five minutes and gives both you and the people who love you serious peace of mind. I always recommend this to every solo traveler, no matter how experienced they are.
  • 5. Let someone handle the details so you can enjoy every minute. The research, the bookings, the backup plans, that’s what I’m here for. Solo travel should feel like freedom, not a second job. When every detail is handled before you leave, you get to show up and actually be present for the experience.
